For many applications the ability to capture,
display, and preserve specimen images is of equal or greater importance
than actually viewing the specimen through the eyepieces.
Photomicrography (35mm and other chemical formats) has been a common
option on microscopes for decades, but the recent development of
relatively inexpensive CCD (charged couple device) video and digital
cameras has greatly increased both the popularity and flexibility
of microscope imaging. Instead of clicking through slides during
a lecture, university professors can now display real-time video
images on projection televisions; petroleum geologists can e-mail
images of core samples to their laboratories from remote locations
around the world; oncologists can refer to CD or on-line catalogues
of cell images to help them make faster and more accurate diagnoses.
Whether your application calls for 35mm, large-format Polaroid,
video, or digital imaging, Meiji Techno can provide you with the
appropriate vision products, microscope and accessories, and full
system configurations.

Applications:
Meiji Techno can provide system configuration
solutions for all applications requiring LIVE VIDEO IMAGING / CAPTURE
/ MANIPULATION / ARCHIVING / MEASUREMENT and ANALYSIS.
Your application is the most important factor in choosing the right
system configuration of vision products for you. The images you
need to see and what you want to do with them will determine the
Meiji Techno configuration for providing the best solution for your
particular application.
Many applications require no more than the ability to purely display
live images, for instance in the fields of teaching or continuous
inspection etc. View

Where both live image display plus
capture, manipulation, archiving, measurement and analysis is required,
e.g. Quality Control or particle counting applications etc., a PC
or laptop including video capture board (and applicable software)
is required. A typical economical solution when incorporating analogue
cameras but requiring digital output is shown here - View

The incorporation of a fully digital camera, connected directly
via IEEE1394 (firewire) terminal to PC, allows SXGA images to be
viewed and captured directly. This connection and proprietary image
acquisition software provides an easy PC installation. View

Meiji Techno can also supply additional proven software solutions
for image analysis, including; enhancement, calibration, measurement,
annotation, analysis, archive and electronic distribution. If you have a very specific application, you may need a unique
solution. With our wide range of microscopes, vision products and
technical expertise Meiji Techno can provide modular system configurations
for almost any application. Please contact
us for any further information.
There are a wide range of camera solutions available to capture
an image from a microscope and relay it to either a high resolution
video monitor, PC or laptop. This can be achieved by using a video
camera or digital camera solution. For

Frame
Grabbers:
Frame grabbers, (or video capture cards),
can be supplied to satisfy most applicational requirements. They
are available for desk top, tower and laptops. Customised software
solutions can be provided to assist you in achieving your specific
requirement. From the simplest of live video capture through to
the most complex of measurement and analysis, we can supply the
right solution for your application.
The standard Meiji Techno frame grabber is a simple configuration
providing the user with a live image source and image capture from
any composite or SVideo (Y/C) PAL or NTSC colour or monochrome camera.
The 32bit PCI bus frame grabber is easy to install and the Meiji
Techno dedicated software has simple LIVE, PAUSE and SAVE buttons
on the toolbar.
Images can be saved directly to hard drive, or any other media available
in your PC, as JPEG, BMP or single image TIFF running under Win98,
ME, 2000, XP and NT.
Further modular software additions providing enhanced features for
archiving, measurement, analysis, and image incorporation into reports
for onward distribution and communication are available on request.
Meiji Techno equipment is used in many
diverse fields of industry. With feedback from our Agents and their
customers we hope to develop a catologue of interesting applicational
uses of vision systems. Please contact
us if you wish to add your application solution to the catalogue.
