New OHCI-compliant driver for JVC Firewire cameras enables portable laptop-based imaging solutions
Meiji Techno UK Ltd are pleased to announce the availability of a new OHCI-compliant driver for JVC Firewire cameras KY-F75U and KY-F1030U.

Until this point, customers wishing to capture via Firewire were required to use a PCI-based Firewire interface, supplied by JVC.

The new OHCI driver allows any OHCI-compliant Firewire (IEEE1394) interface to be used.
Many desktop PCs and laptops are now equipped as standard with an OHCI Firewire port, or alternatively Firewire support can be added in at low cost. The new OHCI-compliant driver means that it is now possible to have a completely portable, laptop-based imaging solution for applications such as:

• Microscopy
• Medical imaging
• Scientific applications
• Industrial imaging

The supported operating systems for the new OHCI driver are Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Please contact Meiji Techno for full details, and recommended hardware configurations.
The new OHCI driver will be supplied free of charge with the KY-F75U and KY-F1030U cameras, and is expected to ship in September. Early release versions of the driver are available now; please contact Meiji Techno for further details.

New TWAIN acquisition driver for JVC Firewire cameras KY-F75U and KY-F1030U
Meiji Techno UK Ltd are pleased to announce the availability of a new TWAIN acquisition driver for JVC Firewire cameras KY-F75U and KY-F1030U.

The new JVC TWAIN driver allows image display and capture from within any TWAIN-compatible application; for example Media Cybernetics Image Pro and Adobe Photoshop. The TWAIN driver allows for full control of all of the JVC camera's parameters from within the TWAIN environment.

The JVC TWAIN driver is compatible with both the original Zenkuman PFW-41 Firewire solution, and also the latest OHCI driver solution.

The new TWAIN driver will be supplied free of charge with the KY-F75U and KY-F1030U cameras, and is expected to ship in September. Early release versions of the driver are available now; please contact Meiji Techno for further details.
